Handprinting - The essence of my work
The essence of my work lays in the analog process and tailored color treatment I give to every picture I take. This process is not efficient and makes me spend way too much time in my bathroom, but yet it is still worth it.
Handprinting or enlarging is the process whereby the film negatives are projected onto a piece of photographic paper –that's where the color conversion happens, from negative film to a positive print.
When you handprint, the color conversion happens in the analog world, opposing a film scan, which does it already in the digital realm. That's what makes the whole difference, as the analog color conversion is organic, natural, real and unique.
This process makes you slow down and come in physical contact with every frame, making you appreciate every picture you take.
