Handprinting - My true essence
The essence of my work lays in the tailored color treatment and texture of my images. This outcome mostly comes from working with film –from the magic of the analog process.
I am especialized in Handprinting. "Handprinting" (or enlarging) is the process whereby the film negatives are projected onto a piece of photographic paper resulting in a positive print – or a handprint.
The washed-out color of the handprints and the texture of the paper make a perfect mix to get an editorial aesthetic that is hard to accomplish otherwise.
The analog process is slow-paced, organic, real and unique, and I try for my work to absolutely convey that feel.
My digital work is also absolutely influenced and inspired by having worked for years with this process.
